Gabe's little sister Ta Niesha takes part in this CRAZY CRAZY Special Olympics Polar Plunge every year up at the Dock of the Bay at Deer Creek. What the kids do is dress up in costume if they want and jump into the lake. Literally they cut the ice out right there and just jump in.....sounds fun?! Maybe after a long run but other than that, no thanks! TaNeisha is a trooper. She got right up there and just jumped in and climbed right out.
I took the kids up and they just played on the snow banks and walked out on the lake. That is such a nerve racking feeling. Especially since this winter has been so mild I was praying the ice was frozen thick enough. We survived! They served everyone donuts and hot chocolate. Good times!
